Palmetto Poison by C. Hope Clark
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

An excellent read I highly recommend even if you do not like to read mysteries. Luckily, I do love reading mysteries and crime fiction novels, because C. Hope Clark's book series does not disappoint at all. I give Hope's third book in her Carolina Slade Mystery Series a 5-Star rating because 'Palmetto Poison' is just as thrilling and can't-put-downable as her first two Carolina Slade mystery novels. Which, yes, I also read and highly recommend too! I cannot wait to read Book #4 in C. Hope Clark's mystery series! I think she is writing that now; at least I am wishing to read more about 'Carolina Slade' and from C. Hope Clark. In all of the author's Carolina Slade Mysteries, she has you truly caring about and loving all of the characters - whether they're bad people or good people, whether they're the loved ones of Carolina Slade or not. If you want to read a fantastic mystery series, read all three (3) of C. Hope Clark's 'Carolina Slade Mystery' novels. 'Palmetto Poison,' like the author's other two (2) books - 'Lowcountry Bribe' and 'Tidewater Murder' - will keep you up at night and will not leave your head even long after you have finished reading them.

You see the link above, my dear readers? Well, today I am sharing again. This time it is a definite "must-read!" for all writers / authors! That link goes to author Anne R. Allen's blog (with author Ruth Harris blogging too!), which is extremely informative and blew me away- it was that good! 

I would advise you to check this out so that you can stay safe, I mean really safe - protecting your author reputation and career safe - on the Internet. And I do not know why I never knew about Anne and Ruth's blog until today but I'm glad I finally found my way there! Thank you, Anne and Ruth. 

If I had known about their blog 12 years ago, when I first went full-time with my writing, I would never have gotten scammed by Poetry.com (probably calling themselves something different nowadays) and would not have had such a bad, nasty experience in 2009 on the Care2.com site when a man, then another man and a woman, attacked me personally for a comment I wrote in regards to a cause I cared deeply about. I reported them to Care2 but it seems Care2 does not care about their members - my own profile is no longer on Care2 but yet I still receive their emails. Go figure! Now go read - happy reading!

Way to go, Angelina!!! You truly deserve the Humanitarian Award for all you do to HELP children and adults in other countries :)

Guess I should also congratulate actor & comedian Steve Martin, actress Angela Lansbury, and Piero Tosi on receiving an "honorary" Oscar - Congrats Steve, Angela, and Piero!!!

Maybe writing about Hollywood Awards is more interesting than what is happening in the country of Syria to the children, men, and women of Syria... After reading some comments from Americans on the Internet, I am ashamed to be part of such an uncaring, uncompassionate, and selfish part of humanity.

Now I will end my post by saying that my husband, who is in law enforcement, stated to me that "Chemical weapons - in particular sarin gas or the other poisons Assad is using on his own countrymen - is the WORST way to die imaginable. You die a slow, painful and excruciating death. Think about that, Americans . . .

Also chew on this thought for a while - if the United States government were gassing us to death, would you want other countries to do NOTHING to help us? To have the same attitude most Americans do toward Syria - "We have enough of our own problems that we shouldn't be helping the Syrians!" Imagine IF our government were to use chemical weapons on us and nobody but nobody came to help us fight back. Oh right! I forgot. We have guns and rifles to fight the government with. Shame on me for 'forgetting' our 2nd Amendment rights that you hold so dear.

I am not even sure anybody will read my post - only have 8 members on here, yet I have 13,000 subscribers! So I will now end my 'venting' of how outraged I am that the majority of Americans do NOT CARE about other countries; in particular, what is happening in Syria. And on that thought, try to have a wonderful weekend!

***** "I purchased a copy of Rosanne Catalano’s book, Mirrored Images, and this short collection of short stories (you will have to try real hard to decide which are fact or fiction!), articles and poetry, both touched my heart and made me smile. Rosanne’s book Mirrored Images is truly a great read! It touched me because of the love shown for her parents, our Creator, and her second husband. It touched me because I was the kid with glasses who was bullied and picked on and I could feel Rosanne's pain when it happened to her. It touched me because I have lost my parents and her tribute to her father, and mother, brought back all of the good times and love I had with/for my own parents. It touched me because Rosanne, as I feel so many of us are but never put it into words so eloquently, is a survivor. I believe we all have guardian angels and Mirrored Images proves it to all who will listen. No one but angels could have saved her from bullies in junior high school, have looked over her until she finally found the perfect mate, and still guide her to this day in her writing craft. These are stories we should not only want to read, enjoy reading, but they are stories we all need to hear. I get a glimpse of the love and courage that Rosanne shows, and shares, in her magazine--and our most welcome online correspondence. Rosanne is writing a continuation of Mirrored Images titled 'Escape and Redemption'. I can't wait to read that! But first, my readers, you must read Mirrored Images."

***** "I read Rosanne Catalano's book Mirrored Images and I love it! She had somewhat of a hard life in some areas and a good one in others. She had a lot of heartache, with the loss of friends early in her life, and the ridicule and horrendous behaviors of other kids when she was in junior high school. Though it sounds like Rosanne had a most wonderful dad and grandmother too; her grandmother reminded me so much of my own grandmother who passed away last year! I enjoyed very much reading all of Rosanne's different short stories and the poems she included. I really loved reading about her little cheese episode in ‘Christmas With Grandma,’ and her little sneaky trek to the store thinking she could hurriedly fix what she had EATEN...LOL!!!
